Days Before Votes Are Counted, Minnesota Voters Boost DFL Candidates For Clean Sweep of Governor, US Senate, AG, SoS, and Auditor Races:

SurveyUSA's final 2026 tracking poll for KSTP-TV Minneapolis, KAAL-TV Rochester, and WDIO-TV Duluth shows DFL candidates winning each of the five statewide contests being polled, with movement towards each DFL candidate and away from each Republican candidate from our last poll, released just over two weeks ago.

DFL candidate Amy Klobuchar gains 3 points and Republican Lisa Demuth loses 2 points in the race to replace Tim Walz as Governor, with Klobuchar finishing 12 points atop Demuth, 51% to 39%. That's up from a 7-point lead in the previous two polls, but narrower than the 16 points she led by following the primaries in August. Green Party candidate Steven Young remains at 3%; undecided voters hold steady at 8%. Each major candidate remains well ahead with their base: Demuth leads by 84 points among Republicans and by 73 points among Conservatives, while Klobuchar leads by 88 points among both Democrats and liberals. Klobuchar has widened her lead among independent voters, where she today leads by 16 points, up from 3 points two weeks ago. Demuth, meantime, has pulled ahead among voters age 65+, where she previously had trailed by margins of 6 (August), 5 (September) and 3 (mid-October) points. Demuth has also pulled ahead among voters who attended some college, where she previously had trailed by 5, 8, and 6-point margins.

The race to replace Tina Smith in the US Senate has been tighter; DFL candidate Peggy Flanagan has led Republican Michele Tafoya by margins of 5 points (August) and 3 points (two weeks ago), and the race was tied in September – but today Flanagan steps into a 7-point lead, climbing 3 points as Tafoya falls back 1, leaving the race at Flanagan 48%, Tafoya 41%. Two other candidates, Libertarian Rebecca Whiting and independent Marisa Simonetti, each continue to take 2% of the vote, while 7% of likely voters say they are undecided. Tafoya has never trailed among men, though her lead there has fallen from 6, 8, and 5 points to 3 points today, but Flanagan has widened her own lead among women from 8 points in September to 11 points two weeks ago to 19 points today. Tafoya, meantime, climbs among voters 65+, where she led by 2 points in September, 8 points in mid-October, and now leads by 14. Those who have already cast their ballots – 20% of the electorate – give Flanagan a 28-point advantage, while those who say they definitely will vote – 65% of all likely voters – prefer Flanagan by a narrower 5-point margin. Tafoya leads by 6 points among the 15% of likely voters who say they will probably vote.

DFL incumbent Attorney General Keith Ellison is at 49% in his re-election bid today, Republican Ron Schutz at 41%, with 10% undecided. That's Ellison's best showing in 7 tracking polls between June and today, and Schutz's worst showing since he climbed into a 43% tie with Ellison in late August. Schutz has never polled above 45%, which he reached in September; Ellison reached 45% for the first time in mid-October, and exceeds it for the first time today. Ellison has eaten into Schutz's lead among men, where Schutz led by 10 points two weeks ago but today leads by just 2, while widening his own lead among women, where he today leads by 18 points, up from 12 points two weeks ago and 5 points in September.

Incumbent DFL Secretary of State Steve Simon gains some ground in his own re-election fight, taking 47% of the vote today against Republican Tad Jude at 36%, Green Party candidate Seth Kuhl-Stennes at 2%, and Libertarian George "Chip" Tangen at 4%. 11% are undecided in this contest. Simon has increased his lead from 4 points in September to 6 points in mid-October to 11 points today, while Jude has received 36% or 37% of the vote in each poll.

Finally, in the election for State Auditor, DFL candidate Zack Filipovich leads Republican Scott Jensen 45% to 39% today, with 4% saying they will vote for Forward Independence candidate Jay Reeves and 12% undecided. Two weeks ago, Filipovich led by a nominal single point; in September, Jensen had the lead, 43% to 36%. Jensen increases his poll-on-poll lead slightly among men, from 7 points to 8, while Filipovich doubles his lead among women from 9 points to 18 points, creating a 26-point gender gap – the largest across the five contests.

Given a list of 12 issues and asked which will be most important to their votes this year, 39% say inflation/the cost of living/gas prices is most important, up from 36% in the last poll; 17% say it's fraud, down from 18%; 9% say health care, down from 11%; 7% say immigration, unchanged. Each of the other issues is at 4% or lower. Voters who identify inflation and the cost of living as their top issue vote for the DFL candidate in each race, by margins of between 31 and 40 points. Those who say health care is most important also vote DFL, by 40 to 46-point margins. Fraud voters vote for Republicans by 61 to 76-point margins, as do those most focused on immigration, who do so by margins of between 60 and 71 points.

About the Research / Filtering: SurveyUSA interviewed 900 adults from the state of Minnesota 10/24/26 through 10/28/26 using non-probability sample of internet panel members provided by Cint USA. Of the adults, 807 were identified as being registered to vote; of the registered voters, 714 were identified as being probably or definitely likely to vote in the November general election or to have already cast their ballots and were asked the substantive questions which follow. The combined pool of survey respondents was weighted to US Census ACS targets for gender, age, race, education, and home ownership. In an alternate scenario, SurveyUSA also included less-likely voters – the 7% of registered voters who said they might or might not vote in November – in the likely voter universe. Adding those less-likely voters, as in the past, increases the number of undecided voters; it also decreases Keith Ellison's lead for Attorney General from 8 points to 7; it decreases Steve Simon's lead for Secretary of State from 11 points to 10; and it decreases Zack Filipovich's Auditor lead from 6 points to 4. Amy Klobuchar's 12-point margin for Governor and Peggy Flanagan's 7-point margin in the race for US Senate do not change.
