| Minnesota Approval Ratings: Gov. Walz, Sen. Klobuchar Tie Previous Lows as Atty. Gen. Ellison and Pres. Trump Set New Ones:
SurveyUSA's latest approval rating polls conducted exclusively for KSTP-TV in Minneapolis, KAAL-TV in Rochester, and WDIO-TV in Duluth show some changes since the previous month's research, including both some upwards ticks and some new lows. Clicking the triangle-T icon where it appears on each question number below will show the survey-by-survey change in approval ratings over time, including 26 tracks since December 2021 for Tim Walz. President Donald Trump sees a new low of -25 this month, down from -20 a month ago and 1 point lower than his previous low of -24, seen in June and early August. 37% now approve of the job he is doing as President, 62% disapprove. Trump has never had a positive job approval in the 10 polls in this series, conducted from February 2025 to now. Governor Tim Walz, who hit his highest net approval of +19 in June 2025 before beginning to establish a series of new lows, including a low of -14 in early August, falls back to -14 today, down from -9 last month. 41% approve, 55% disapprove of the job he is doing as Governor. Senator Amy Klobuchar, who was also at her lowest point of a still positive +7 at the start of August, today dips another point to a new low of +6. 47% approve of the job she is doing; 41% disapprove. Senator Tina Smith rises from her low of +5 to +7, with 41% approving and 34% disapproving of the job she is doing in the Senate. Attorney General Keith Ellison tumbles 8 points from -1 to set a new low of -9, with 36% approving and 45% disapproving of his job performance. The state legislature is up one point to -10 today, continuing a slow rise from -14 in early August, and -15 in July. 38% approve and 48% disapprove of the job it is doing. On his handling of the economy, Donald Trump is at -25 today, up 3 points from -28 last month, with 36% approving and 61% disapproving of his performance on this front. Trump's decision to go to war in Iran is at -36 today, down from -30 and a new low. Just 29% say they agree with his decision to go to war; 65% disagree. Fully crosstabbed results follow. |
| About the Research / Filtering: SurveyUSA interviewed 900 adults from the state of Minnesota 09/09/26 through 09/14/26 using nonprobability sample of internet panel members provided by Cint USA. Of the adults, 800 were identified as being registered to vote and were asked the questions which follow. The combined pool of survey respondents was weighted to US Census ACS targets for gender, age, race, education, and home ownership. |
